Dream Destinations for 2018

As 2017 comes to a close and 2018 approaches I’ve been daydreaming more and more about where this year will take me.  Visualizing has become a big part of my everyday life and so I’m taking that to the next level and publicly publishing my dream travel list for 2018.  Let’s all watch and see if I can make it happen!
In no particular order, here are the top four places I can see myself traveling in 2018.

Jordan

This country was never on my list prior to my travels.  I’ve taken a major interest after meeting countless travelers who rant and rave about their experiences here.  When I spent time in Koh Tao, Thailand, I actually became friends with the owner of my bungalow who was from Jordan and couldn’t wait to see all that he described in real life.  I want to see the ancient city of Petra at sunrise and sunset and get to know the local culture.  Fingers crossed I can make this one happen sooner rather than later!  Many people are starting to want to go here which can only mean higher prices…

Egypt

I’ve actually always wanted to go to Egypt, it just wasn’t at the top of my list.  Europe and South East Asia were always my top priorities and now I’ve checked them off (but don’t worry, I’ll always make my way back to Thailand, you know how much I love it there).  I recently saw a YouTube video made by a traveler I met here in Cusco, Peru and was reinspired to want to visit this country that’s so rich in heritage, culture and ruins.  The Great Pyramids look like they’d not only blow my mind, they may bring a tear to my eye just knowing how much they have meant to humans for so many years and how we’ve managed to preserve them.

India

India was on my original itinerary from year one!  I had a flight booked and everything.  I wanted to stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Jaipur and roam around the Pink City before making my way to the beaches of Goa to mediate and practice yoga.  Unfortunately I did not arrange my visa in time and had to postpone my trip.  2018 is time to revisit my plan and make my way there!  India has been calling my name for years.  I want to spend a month or two minimum in this country and learn medication practices from the experts.

Zimbabwe

You have all heard me say my biggest regret about my time in South Africa was not following my plan and making my way to Zimbabwe, right?  I fell in love instead and threw my plans out the window.  Ever since I have not been able to stop thinking about Victoria Falls and all of the amazing Zimbabweans I met during my time in Cape Town.  I have so much ground to cover still in the Southern part of Africa and am really looking forward to making my way back.  I HAVE to see those waterfalls in person!  They look beyond incredible.  Anyone been here and witnessed them with their own eyes?  Would love to hear about it in the comments!

So, let’s all say a little prayer that I can get to all of these places next year and share the amazing stories, videos and photos with all of you.  Hey, maybe some of you will even come join me!?
Okay, enough daydreaming,  I’m off to enjoy the ever-so-rare sunshine here in Cusco then on to yoga.  Namaste.

About the Author:

On August 14th, 2015 I left my life in the United States behind with the intention to never look back. I had the "American Dream" and I woke up from it, to create a new reality for myself. I sought out beauty in a world that was increasingly dark for me at the time and ended up finding more than I bargained for. With only a backpack, I traveled across Europe, South East Asia and then on to Africa. With over 30 countries stamped in my passport, I've become an entirely new version of myself with a broader perspective on what it means to be a woman in today's world. My hope is that by sharing my stories and featuring women like me from around the world, we can inspire others to break down their own internal barriers and go cross a few international borders while they're at it. I truly believe travel can be healing to a troubled soul, empowering to the lost and rejuvenating for the exhausted. Perspective is everything, and I believe in the power of "going global," what about you? SheGoesGlobal.net is a site that started out with my stories and grew into a platform for women all around the world to tell their travel tales of trials and triumph. We all believe that the more you see of the world, the better you can be as a person who inhabits it. Women encouraging other women to grow, travel, evolve- that's what SGG is all about. ---> Read my very first blog post (see "Archives" for August 2015) to learn how this all began.
